Clang! Clang!" (channeling a Judy Garland song) goes the glasses at Morandi Restaurant & Lounge @ 3:15 p.m.

Thursday, August 18 -- REMEMBERING STONEWALL VET:  MICHAEL DALLAS TONEY of BROOKLYN, NYC, DIED of AIDS (1952 to 1992)

Saturday, July 30 -- MONTHLY MEETING of the STONEWALL REBELLION VETERANS' ASSOCIATION

This significant STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans' Association ("S.R.V.A.") get2gether celebrates the 53rd annual anniversary of the legendary organization!  The S.R.V.A. perennially and incredibly still meets the last Saturday of every month, unless it is a national American holiday!  The S.R.V.A. owns the famous 1969 blue convertible also popularly known as "The Stonewall Car", impounded in front of the ~original~ STONEWALL Club by the NYCPD on the first night June 27th of the 1969 uprising!  Who do you know that could keep a vehicle -- and in out-standing condition -- for over a half-century or anything near it?  No one!  Post-Pride, sooo many people are sooo interested in everything "Stonewall" as long as it does not involve their giving credit where credit is due to the Stonewall veterans or supporting the historic, advocacy, educational, accommodating and non-profit S.R.V.A.!  Their alleged "Stonewall" interest is sooo superficial!  It is akin to
"Lee's Press-On Nails!  Instead, many pretend the actual participants in everything "Stonewall" all magically disappeared -- or never existed!  Many act as if Gay history is a fairy-tail and Gay rights grew on a tree.  Like the ~original~ STONEWALL Bar & Dance Club jukebox song advises: "Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing, Baby".  Pow-wow ignites at Morandi Restaurant at the corner of Seventh Avenue and Waverly Place in Manhattan, NYC @ 3:15 p.m.  RSVP for attendance at (917) 286-0616.

Saturday, July 23 --  REMEMBRANCE:  FORMER NYC COUNCILMEMBER JAMES E. "JED" DAVIS

New York City Councilmember and Brooklyn District Leader James 'Jed' Davis was shockingly assassinated incredibly within the New York City Council Chamber at City Hall!  This tragedy occurred on July 23, 2003.  Jed was outstanding, vital, outgoing and exciting representing District 35.  He was the  super proud honorary member of the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans' Association.  Born in Brooklyn on September 3, 1962, Jed was only 41.  For more info on Jed, please visit:  Https://www.StonewallVets.org/JamesDavis.htm

Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender ("G.L.B.T.") Pride was largely created by subsequent members of the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans' Association ("S.V.A.") -- not by the new century revisionists!  The S.V.A. was formed, just two weeks after the uprising, on Friday, July 11th in Greenwich Village, New York City.  It was the first G.L.B.T. group to be formed after the rebellion.  The Stonewall survivors continue the S.V.A. organization 53 years later through today!  Incredible!  Confirmed Stonewall vets include, but are not limited to, Willson Henderson, Ramon Bellido, Bert Coffman, Leigh McManus and Nance Lomax.  For the anniversary "S.V.A. The super legendary Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons ("FVFS") -- they even have a Tony-awward winning Broadway musical in their honor -- are performng at the grand Radio City Music Hall in the heart of Manhattan.  FVFS were one of the prime and consistent artists in the original STONEWALL Club jukebox!  Their dance music brought so much joy and fun to the Gay boys and girls and their friends, including the Mafia men owners!  As a fellow Italian, Frankie V., like Frank S., was a great favorite.  The S.R.V.A. has had our FVFS tickets longtime.  Showtime is @ 8 p.m. with a monumental overture of over twenty FVFS hit songs!

The STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans' Association is again, by majority vote of its active member Stonewall veterans, holding its monthly get2gether as a duncheon meeting!  That way, we can do three things simultaneously.  As usual, expect a surprise public official guest speaker!  (She has been confirmed!)  Event is happily hosted by the SVA's director Willson Henderson.  This month's duncheon is co-hosted by the SVA's assistant manager Dante K. Smith.  The SVA's vice-president Bert Coffman presents updates from and plans with various New York City elected officials.  S.R.V.A. boardmember Ramon Bellido reviews the SVA's plans-in-progress for its "53rd Annual Conference" (June 25).  The eatery venue is Morandi's Restaurant in the West Greenwich Village.  "Clang, clang, clang" go the glasses @ 3:15 p.m. ringing on and off until 6 p.m.

Tuesday, April 5 -- BIRTHDAY CHEER: QUEEN ALLYSON ALLANTE, PRESIDENT of the IMPERIAL QUEENS & KINGS of GREATER NEW YORK

Unquestionably one of the living legends of the modern G.L.B.T. communities and beyond, Queen Allyson Allante is mostly known for starting the first transgender organization in New York City, the Imperial QUEENS of New York in 1968; speaking on behalf of transgender rights (way prior to it being semi-vogue) before the New York City Council as far back as a half-century; raising funds for and performing at GMHC's renowned "Dance-a-thons" on behalf of combatting the AIDS War; and leading Gay Pride parades in NYC and elsewhere with the famous blue 1969 classic convertible; and being the iconic public spokesperson for the legendary STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association!  Royal birthday greetings to Queen Allyson and long live the Queen!

Saturday, March 26, 2022 -- STONEWALL REBELLION VETERANS ASSOCIATION MONTHLY MEETING from 3:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.

The STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association ("S.V.A.") meets 'the last Saturday of the month' -- unless it is a national American holiday, a holiday weekend or a spiked health pandemic!
Iconic Stonewall veterans are always on hand to provide actual details of the ~original~ STONEWALL Bar & Dance Club!  With the SVA's persevering founder Willson Henderson presiding, an actual G.L.B.T. leader, the S.V.A. meetings are always on-time, informative and berry interesting.  Note: This month's special, post-pandemic, resumption get2gether is at Morandi Restaurant (we deserve it) on Seventh Avenue at cross streets Waverly Place and Charles Street (two blocks below West 14 Street) in Greenwich Village, NYC.  Event toasts @ 3:15 with final desserts ordered by 5:15 p.m.  Happy Spring!

Saturday, March 26 -- ORIGINAL STONEWALL CLUB JUKEBOX SUPERSTAR BIRTHDAY: DIANA ROSS!

Monday, March 14 -- S.V.A. BOOKKEEPER BIRTHDAY: ANITRA CORNACHIOLIO

Sunday, March 6, 2022 -- SUPREME MARY WILSON'S MEMORIAL BIRTHDAY

The Supreme Mary Wilson -- heard in Gay club jukeboxes for two decades -- suddenly and  sadly passed a year ago near Las Vegas in Henderson, Nevada.  The STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association, as an organized G.L.B.T. group, scheduled many concert outings to see The Supremes: Diana, Mary and Cindy perform.  This launched with the hot Stonewall Summer of 1969 at the Westbury Music Fair in Westbury, Long Island.  We have the pix!  Thanks to SVA's founder Willson Henderson, who was know to the group as their Long Island fan club president, after the great concert, the S.V.A. contingency was invited backstage with Diana Ross & The Supremes!  Mary wanted to know abiut the 1969 G.L.B.T. uprising!  As a living tribute to Miss Mary Wilson, Motown Records produced a wonderful album and compact disc set -- appropriately issued this weekend -- entitled "Mary Wilson: The Motown Anthology".  It includes our favorite album songs of Mary singing lead or equal 3-part harmony with The Supremes.  These include "Come And Get These Memories", "Our Day Will Come", "Falling In Love With Love" (from "The Supremes Sing Rogers And Hart" album) and the outstanding "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You" (the female solo version of Frankie Valli's #1 hit)!  When we saw Mary just two years ago at the St. George Theatre in Staten Island and then The Suffolk Theatre in LI, just before the pandemic struck, the performance of Miss Wilson was invigorated and exciting as was our traditional back stage reunion!  Motown has released a new Mary Wilson single, timely-titled "Why Can't We All Get Along"!  Mary 'touched' the S.V.A. and the World!

The Manhattan-born Veronica "Ronnie" Bennett Spector is tributed by Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney, Brian Wilson, Bruce Springsteen, Steven Van Zandt, Keith Richards, Gene Simmons, Ringo Starr and Billy Joel -- and that is just the major White music guys -- among many other musical luminaries, all of whom worked with The Ronettes and/or Ronnie Spector!  Prominent music industry women with publicized tributes for Ronnie include Bette Midler (who covered "Be My Baby" as a tribute in her "For the Girls" album), Darlene Love (sang on Spector-produced Ronettes songs), Martha Reeves (girl group colleague), Genya Raven, Patti Smith and Cher!  In fact, Cher sang background on most of the Phil Spector-produced Ronettes songs.  Cher wrote the foreward to Ronnie Spector's book, "Be My Baby: My Life As A Ronette".  A historic retrospective on both The Ronettes and Ronnie is appropriately well-covered with photos in The New York Times.  Ronnie Spector's singing stablemate at the legendary Philles Records, close colleague and dear friend Darlene Love gave a detailed interview from when they first met to her introducing Ronnie to Mr. Spector and their collaborative success on the famous "A Christmas Gift To U" album on the untimely passing of Ronnie.  They did a rousing holiday duet several years ago of "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree".  One of Ronnie's other hometown newspapers published a comprehensive story on the iconic "Be My Baby" gal from Spanish Harlem in their New York Post!  Testimonials from Beach Boys lead singer Brian Wilson and rock group KISS's lead singer and guitarist Gene Simmons are included in The Independent News article -- plus great Ronnie Ronette photos:  https://www.Independent.co.UK/arts-entertainment/music/news/ronnie-spector-death-tributes-b1992142.html

Thursday, January 12 -- SUPER STONEWALL JUKEBOX SONGSTRESS and MUSIC ICON RONNIE SPECTOR DIES @ 78

Ronettes

Ronnie Spector (above right) has been a music icon for nearly 60 years!  As lead singer of the fabulous Ronettes, named after Ronnie, their hit parade included:  The #1 "Be My Baby" (written by Ellie Greenwich and considered by many as the greatest girl group song), "Baby, I Love U" (also written by Ellie), "The Best Part Of Breaking-Up (Is When We're Making Up)", "Do I Love You", "Is This What I Get For Loving U, Baby" (written by Carole King), and the Grammy award-winnng "Walking In The Rain"!  The Ronettes are perenially heard yearly for their popular rock 'n' soul holiday songs!  All three songs were in the ~original~ STONEWALL Club Jukebox (1966 to 1969) every Christmas.  In fact, in a recent national holiday song survey, The Ronettes' song, with sultry Ronnie's unmistakable young girl voice, "Sleigh Ride", tied for first place!  Besides worldwide fans, Ronnie is survived by her husband of forty years, Jonathan Greenfield, and two sons, Jason and Austin Greenfield.  For more info on Ronnie & The Ronettes including two record album cover photos, visit:
https://www.StonewallVets.org/songsofStonewall-5.htm
and for a solo album of Ronnie and photos, visit:

Saturday, December 25th -- CHRISTMAS DAY INTERNATIONAL HOLIDAY and CHRISTMAS WEEKEND

Friday, December 24 -- ENCORE ED SULLIVAN SHOW FEATURING ARTISTS PERFORMING HOLIDAY and CHRISTMAS SONGS

The STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association recommends enjoying this entertainment event on Christmas eve featuring artists performing holiday songs on the classic Ed Sullivan show.  The height of the twenty-five year variety show was during the "Stonewall Era" (1966 to 1969)!  Many of the singers shown on this show had their popular Christmas singles in the original STONEWALL Bar & Dance Club Jukebox!  Several of the artists include Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Diana Ross & The Supremes, The Temptations, Barbra Streisand, The Righteous Brothers and Petula Clark!  To view a unique list of the actual holiday songs in the original Stonewall Club Jukebox spanning four Christmases, see:  www.StonewallVets.org/songsofStonewall-2.htm.  This berry special Christmas program tonight airs on Memorable Television -- ME-TV -- from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.  Merry Christmas to U if U are on the SVA's 'Nice List' or U are simply nice!
-------------------
Note:  All of the aforementioned 411 and so much more are some of the endless reasons -- whether it is Gay History Month or Christmas or neither -- that educational administrators, teachers, students, regular folks and the media contact the S.R.V.A. for actual and accurate information about the entire "Stonewall Era"!

Wednesday, December 22 -- KENNEDY CENTER HONORS with RECIPIENTS BERRY "Mr. MOTOWN" GORDY and BETTE "DIVINE MISS M" MIDLER and LORNE "SNL" MICHAELS

The outstanding Kennedy Center Honors have a few Gay favorites this year!  Berry Gordy, Jr., who greatly changed the world and vastly advanced the civil rights movement with his incredible and longtime legendary music company, is, at last, being honored -- at age 92!  Expect to see musical film clips including Diana Ross, Lionel Ritchie, The Supremes, The Jackson 5, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, The Temptations, The Marvelettes, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, Brenda Holloway, The Four Tops, Stevie Wonder, The Isley Brothers, The Velvelettes, et al. -- plus a 'live' performance by one of them!  Another overdue KCH awardee and Gay favorite is Miss Bette Midler!  She has been a Gay fave since before she started performing with gay Barry Manilow as her arranger and pianist at the Continental Gay Baths in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, NYC.  The  Kennedy Center Honors great annual show happened earlier this month and is televised tonight on CBS-TV @ 9 p.m. (EST)!

Wednesday, December 15 -- STONEWALL JUKEBOX SONGSTRESS WANDA YOUNG ROGERS, SECOND LEAD SINGER of THE MARVELETTES, DIED @ 78

Wanda Young, born on August 9, 1943, in Inkster near Detroit, Michigan, joined The Marvelettes in 1961 -- the year that they had their top-of-the-charts hit "Please, Mr. Postman"!  Wanda married Bobby Rogers, a member of the Motown premier boy group The Miracles.  "Postman" was Motown Records' first number one song.  This break-through was highlighted -- along with an album cover of The Marvelettes -- recently when Motown founder Berry Gordy was honored by the Kennedy Center Honors!  During the Stonewall Era (1966 to 1969), The Marvelettes, with Wanda as the soulful and sexy lead singer, virtually always had a current song in the Stonewall Jukebox and every other Gay club jukebox throughout America!  Those hit inckuded:  "Don't Mess With Bill", "The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game", "When You're Young And In Love", "My Baby Must Be A Magician (Cause He Sure Has The Magic Touch)" and "Destination Anywhere"!

Sunday, December 12 -- STONEWALL JUKEBOX SINGING STAR BIRTHDAY:  MISS CONNIE FRANCIS

Miss Connie Francis is known for being celebrated by the music world as the most popular female vocalist for several consecutive years in the late 1950s and early 1960s!  Traditionally, her Gay-inspiring song "Where The Boys Are" was the last song played in every Gay club and bar jukebox every night.  Sfter the advent of Gay Rights, the song became known in the 1980s and the 1990s as the "Gay National Anthem"!  Miss Francis is currently living in Miami, Florida -- not too far from the site in Fort Lauderdale of her legendary hit movie "Where The Boys Are"!

Sunday, December 12 -- REMEMBERING NYC MAYOR ED KOCH (1924 to 2013)

New York City Councilman/Congressman/Mayor Ed I. Koch served NYC for three decades!  He also proudly served as the STONEWALL Veterans Association's honorary male chair for four decades!  To learn more about the greatest public official in New York City history, view Mayor Ed and many of his relevant letters to the S.V.A., besides photos, at:  https: StonewallVets.org/EdKoch.htm.

Friday, December 3 -- NYC MAYOR-ELECT ADAMS "TRANSITCHIONAL" TEAM

New York City Mayor-Elect Eric Lee Adams's "Transition" Team, created by his campaign team, has released the humongous transition team -- albeit with Mr. Adams out of the country -- yet without any Stonewall veterans!  Who did that?  Not Eric.  We expect that when he finds out, he will rebuke and correct such ingratitude and rudeness!  Out of 700-plus individuals, they (or he or she) should have picked at least one S/W vet, rather than three G.L.T. (no 'B') characters who were all vehemently against Adams for mayor!  One of them heads a Gay political club ('SDC') that endorsed Scott The Schlub!  Obviously, a gay ELA campaign staffer(s) is not aware of, or likely intentionally ignored, the fact that Brooklyn Borough President Adams appropriately held a "STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Day" during Gay Pride Month in addition to the reality of his being a longtime and active supporter and attendee of the S.V.A.  Time for the 'itch' on the "Transitchional" team to be eradicated.  Suffice it to say, though with much more to come, the mayor-elect agrees with the S.V.A.!

Wednesday, December 1st -- WORLD AIDS DAY

Saturday through Sunday, November 25 to 28, 2021 -- THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY WEEKEND

NOTE:  After over a half-century of meeting on Thanksgiving weekend on the last Saturday of the month, the legendary S.V.A. -- now with a primary 'elder' membership -- no longer meets on holiday weekends!  Why should we?  We don't!  Like they say on the farm, "eat the bird!"

Sunday, November 21 -- S.V.A. HONORARY MEMBER BIRTHDAY: U.S. CONGRESSWOMAN YVETTE D. CLARKE (from BROOKLYN, NYC)

Wednesday, November 10 -- BIRTHDAY: ROLAND EMMERICH, MOVIE DIRECTOR of DEFINITIVE G.L.B.T. FILM "STONEWALL!" and STEADFAST S.V.A. SUPPORTER

Tuesday, November 2 -- ELECTION DAY -- V*O*T*E!

As a reminder or first-time info, the non-profit STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association ("S.V.A.") is not a political club; however, we are highly politically aware and well-armed with many political resources!

Saturday and Sunday, October 30 and 31 -- HALLOWEEKEND!!

The STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association ("S.R.V.A.") does not meet on holidays or holiday weekends like Halloween!  The legendary Greenwich Village Halloween Parade happens on the 31st (Sunday).  This is the 48th annual!  Incredible parade blasts off on Avenue of the Americas and Spring Street in Manhattan @ 7 p.m.  It shall be televised.  Look  for the incredible Michael Jackson Dancers re-enacting his universal #1 song "Thriller" -- the ultimate Halloween song!  Honorable follow-up and previous longtime winner is "Monster Mash" by Bobby 'Boris' Pickett!  Politically and luckily, this is the last scarey Halloween that citizens of New York City will be spooked and tricked by eeery creepz and noxious liarz -- all election loserz -- like Snott the Schlub, Horey C. Johnsin and Jimma Ban Brainer!  Trick or treat!!

Monday, October 18 -- CONGRESSWOMAN CAROLINA'S CELEBRATION

U.S. Congresswoman and S.V.A. Honorary Female Chair Carolyn 'Carolina' Maloney conducts a happy, electoral and fun social event!  Confirmed guest speakers include NYS Governor Kathy C. Hochul and NYC Mayor-elect and S.V.A. Honorary Male Chair Eric Lee Adams!!  Confirmed guests include Brooklyn Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez and Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer.  Awesome Autumn event is at the outstanding Williamsburg Hotel at 96 Whyte Street in Brooklyn, NYC -- in Carolina's congressional district!  G.L.B.T. organizations represented are the STONEWALL Veterans' Association and PRIDE Democrats of New York City.  Festivities commence @ 5:30 p.m. partying on until 7 p.m. or later!

,
Tuesday, October 5 -- S.V.A. BIRTHDAY:  WILLSON HENDERSON, FOUNDER and DIRECTOR of the S.R.V.A.

October 2021 -- G.L.B.T. HISTORY MONTH

The term "Gay history" basically began only years after the monumental 1969 Stonewall Rebellion in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, NYC from late Friday night, June 27th to Thursday, July 3rd, 1969!

Sunday, September 12 -- RECORD-BREAKER:  S.V.A. WEBSITE with over  51,000 VERIFIED VISITS in ONE DAY!

The exceedingly popular STONEWALL Veterans Association website has many times had
way more than 51,000 verifed visits in one day; however this is the first time in a dozen years!  The S.V.A. is not a political organization yet with this powerful website strength, it received just on this one day more 'visits' than the New York City G.L.B.T political clubs receive in a year!  And, that's a fact!  Congratulationz to the quintessential source for everything "Stonewall": the S.V.A.  View the stats at:  www.StonewallVets.org/stats/2021_09.html.

Tuesday, September 7 -- "GOOD WORD NEWS" REVEALS THAT OUSTED SLANDERER ALPHONSO DAVID IS NOW SLANDERING THE H.R.C.!
More scurrilous 411 emerges about the scheming Alphonso 'Alfie' David!  After his name was stated in the NYS attorney general's investigative report over three dozen times relating to inappropriate, if not illegal, actions by him, Alfie thought he would still keep his overpaid job in the G.L.B.T. communities!  Wtf?  Among other improprieties, Alfie 'took' (stole) New York State property personnel files with him to his position at the
Human Rights Campaign (H.R.C.).  After being duly 86'd, Alfie is now ludicrously accusing the Gay HRC of 'harassment'!  Wtf?  All of this, and so much more, begs the question of who or what will the Stonewalling Demokrat Club (SDC) 'honor' next?  Having already shamefully 'honored' the Gayragpaper, Alun Ratzkov, and Alfie David, they are running out of slanderers!
https://GoodWordNews.com/alphonso-david-fired-as-chairman-of-human-rights-campaign-npr/

Monday, September 6 -- HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGN FINALLY FIRES ITS DISINGENUOUS and OVERPAID NOW FORMER HEAD ALPHONSO 'ALFIE' DAVID

If was not 'if' but 'when' the Human Rights Campaign ("H.R.C.") would finally get wise to all of the underhanded dealings. illegal acts such as distributing 'privileged and confidential' state records and files, and libelous lies of Alphonso 'Alfie' David and give him the long overdue and  devilishly deserved "86"!  After the release of the scathing New York State attorney general's thorough and lengthy investigative report which nailed Alphonso David, at a subsequent executive committee meeting of the H.R.C., one prominent official asked Alfie: "When are you resigning?"  Other H.R.C. staffers demanded that he resign pronto!  Well, he shamefuly did not.  Now, it has, alas, been done for him!  For more detailed dirt, see:  https://www.LGBTQNation.com/2021/09/human-rights-campaign-just-fired-first-black-president-alphonso-david/

Sunday, September 5 -- REMEMBRANCE: GAYLA SIGMAN FARES, S.V.A. FRIEND of MANHATTAN and LAS VEGAS

Gayla Sigman Fares had been a longtime friend of the STONEWALL Veterans' Association since 1979!  Through her legal administrator efforts at her employer law firm, she obtained pro bono services, when needed, for the S.V.A. throughout the 1980s and into the mid-1990s.  For Stonewall vet Willson Henderson, Gayla promised and secured his first client of said law firm, Proskauer Rose Goetz & Mendelsohn, for his new and trailblazing legal services agency Proofreaders Unlimited, Ltd.  Through Willson, Gayla gladly obtained part-time 'moonlighting' word processing work for members of the Gay Officers' Action League.  "Miss Gayla" is remembered on this her memorial birthday!

Saturday, August 28 -- STONEWALL REBELLION VETERANS ASSOCIATION: LAST MEETING OF THE YEAR

*

The SVA's "Summertime 2021" meeting happens today!  Incredibly, it is fifty-two incredible years since the Stonewall Summer of 1969!  Just like 52 years ago... incredibly, Willson Henderson still presides!  Like the #1 song goes... "Let's Hear It For The Boy"!  Special reports by Stonewall vets Bert Coffman (public officials communications), Leigh McManus (correspondence with Gay groups), Ramon Bellido (upcoming S.V.A. and other events) and Ruthybird Campbell (S.V.A. scheduling resuming after Labor Day weekend).  Today's topics include the upcoming, first-showing, invitation-only, private screening of the long-awaited and revealing documentary "Inside STONEWALL!".  It is all about the Stonewall Era, the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, actual G.L.B.T. Stonewall veterans, original NYCPD "Stonewall Cops" and the 1969 "Stonewall Car"!  Gathering today happens at the historic Saint John's Evangelical Lutheran Church at 83 Christopher Street off Seventh Avenue in Greenwich Village, NYC, promptly @ 3:15 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.

NOTE:  This shall be the last S.V.A. meeting of the year!  On the last Saturday in September is the annual S.R.V.A. streetfair on Broadway near Union Square; in October it is Halloween weekend and the Village parade; in November it is Thanksgiving weekend; and in December, this year, it is the weekend of Christmas!  Well in advance, lettuce be the first to state:  Happy new year!

Friday, August 27 -- SVA's BOB DIAMOND TRIBUTED in THE NEW YORK TIMES

"Brookyn Bob" Diamond
, the trolley car impressario, is tributed in The New York Times in addition to the New York Daily News and the STONEWALL Newzletta among other publications.  The comprehensive and, of course, inately interesting, retrospective on "Trolley Bob", including a photo of him as a train engineer, is written by Clay Rosin.  View the article at:  https://www.NYTimes.com/2021/08/28/nyregion/bob-diamond-dead.html

Saturday, August 21 -- FRIEND of S.V.A. DIES: ROBERT DIAMOND of BROOKLYN

Robert "Brooklyn Bob" Diamond has been a longtime and fervent supporter of the STONEWALL Veterans' Association.  For several years, Bob was on the SVA's board of directors.  Because of Bob's projects and work with trolley cars, he was also known as "Trolley Bob"!  Decades ago, Bob discovered a hidden railroad tunnel under Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn.  Besides attempting to construct a limited original trolley car line from Red Hook to Downtown Brooklyn, Bob famously created several years of tunnel tours.  The main public official who was helpful was the late Councilman Jed Davis!  View Bob's Brooklyn rail website at:  http://www.BrooklynRail.net.  Thoughtful and proud of the S.V.A., Bob has a link at his site to the SVA's website.  In all of his speaking engagements for decades, Brooklyn Bob proudly spoke of the comaradery and bravery of the Stonewall Rebellion veterans.  Bob especially delighted in relating that the Brooklyn-born founder of the S.V.A., Willson Henderson, used to ride the Church Avenue (#35) trolley cars at a very young age with his grandmother.  The New York Daily News published a retrospective story on Trolley Bob in their August 25th issue.  https://www.NYDailyNews.com/new-york/ny-bob-diamond-brooklyn-transit-booster-dead-20210824-m5zqferkprhgdfq4ng2y7oeopm-story.html

Sunday, July 25 -- S.V.A. BIRTHDAY: MOLLY BENNETT AITKEN in MA

Friday, July 23 -- REMEMBRANCE:  COUNCILMAN JAMES E. "JED" DAVIS

Sadly, New York City district leader and councilman James E. "Jed" Davis was assassinated in  City Hall just before a City Council meeting on Wednesday afternoon, July 23rd, 2003!  Jed was politically very successful and multi-talented besides 'tall, dark and handsome' -- and only 41!  S.V.A. commiserates with Jed's brother Geoffrey A. Davis and their mother Mrs. Thelma Davis.  For more about the solid S.V.A. supporter (in all ways) and out-standing Jed, visit the SVA's webfile on him at:  https://www.StonewallVets.org/JamesDavis.htm.

Tuesday, July 20 -- S.V.A. BIRTHDAY:  CORPORATE COUNSEL KAREN S. BURSTEIN

Sunday, July 11th -- 52nd ANNIVERSARY: STONEWALL REBELLION VETERANS ASSOCIATION

In 1969, exactly two weeks after the historic Stonewall Rebellion from June 27 to July 3, a dozen actual patrons of the original STONEWALL Bar & Dance Club and veterans of the uprising, convened on Friday evening, July 11th, to form the STONEWALL Veterans Club.  To commemorate this outstanding milestone, the S.V.A. is hosting a 'Stonewall Veterans only' dinner -- plus some select media (not the Schleps-owned Gayragpaper) -- from 5 pm to 8 pm at an undisclosed, deserving high-end restaurant appropriately in Greenwich Village, NYC!

Sunday. July 4th -- AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE DAY

Saturday, July 3, 2021 -- 52nd ANNIVERSARY:  GAY INDEPENDENCE

The Stonewall Rebellion to fight against the general anti-Gay climate and anti-Gay laws and the local oppression from the New York City Police Department and other law enforcement agencies and, additionally, launching the Gay Rights Movement all in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, New York City, started on Friday, June 27th, 1969, the first night of the uprising, and ended on July 3rd, 1969, the last night of the week-long rebellion!  The SVA's forthcoming founder and future director, Willson L. Henderson, cleverly, historically and appropriately termed July 3rd as "Gay Independence Day"!  (You will not read this basic Gay history in the Schleps' Gayragpaper aka G.C.N.!)  Sadly, many Gay people and all its tributaries today are more interested in 'pronouns' than people -- the surviving Stonewall veterans people!

Sunday, "June 27th" -- THE MOST IMPORTANT DATE IN GAY HISTORY: JUNE 27th

The emotional day of Judy Garland's super sad funeral, especially for Gay people, on Friday, June 27th, 1969, segued into the NYCPD picking the wrong night to invade a Gay bar and dance club -- especially in Manhattan where Judy's front-page and televised funeral was held at St. Patrick's Cathedral!  The police invasion of The STONEWALL Club -- while votive candles were lit for St. Judy -- was the Friday night of June 27th.
Think of The Beatles #1 song "A Hard Day's Night"!  Although most people -- including Gays -- fail to recognize the reality that the patrons at the ~original~ STONEWALL Club that fateful Friday night did not look at their watches (if they were wearing one) when the cuckoo clock struck twelve o'clock and screamed:  "Ohhh, look, it is now the 28th" -- zero hours police time!   No, in fact, they stated:  "Let's have another toast to St. Judy" or "Lettuce say another prayer for St. Judy"!  Again, think of The Beatles' song, "A Hard Day's Night"!  Thus, SVA-ers do not use naval or police time, we use Gay time:  June 27th aka June-twenty-seventh -- the most famous date in Gay his/herstory for the first night of the Stonewall Rebellion on June 27th, 1969!

Saturday, June 26th, 2021 -- "SVA's 52nd ANNUAL CONFERENCE & STONEWALL VETS REUNION + TESTIMONIALS plus SPECIAL GUESTS"

The legendary National STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association ("S.V.A.") presents its quintessential "S.R.V.A. 52nd Annual Conference & Stonewall Veterans Reunion + Eyewitness Testimonials"!

Actual Stonewall Rebellion Veterans of the five-night (no, it was not just one night as is usually assumed) Stonewall Rebellion will be attending and speaking!  You will not find wannabes who were  not STONEWALL Bar & Dance Club patrons nor at the Stonewall Uprising at the S.V.A.  We are the Stonewall "Jeopardy".  Select S.V.A. prominent supporters, sponsoring public officials and special candidates shall be invited to attend and to speak!  These include federal congressmembers, state senators, state assemblymembers and city councilmembers.  Many will be current New York City candidates insofar as the majority of the recent Primary Election results cannot possibly be known due to the new process of 'rank-voting' and absentee ballots.  The only declared winners would have to receive at least fifty percent of their vote.  With so many candidates per contest...  fahgeddaboudit!

New York City public official S.V.A. Guest Speakers
* U.S. Congresswoman Carolyn Jane MALONEY
* Mayoral Candidate and NYC Commissioner Kathryn Ann GARCIA

Erson.  The Church is located at 81 Christopher Street (how gayly appropriate) off Seventh Avenue South in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, New York City.  The #1 subway stops at Christopher Street -- a stone's throw from the Church!  Quality foods are provided courtesy of nearby Gristedes Supermarket at Sheridan Triangle!  "The Happening" hit song by Diana Ross & The Supremes sounds off @ 3:15 p.m. and the events light up until the finale song "Where The Boys Are" by Connie Francis @ approximately 6:15 p.m.

Saturday, May 29 -- STONEWALL REBELLION VETERANS ASSOCIATION MONTHLY MEETING and SPECIAL GUESTS

Since it is Memorial Weekend, the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association ("S.V.A.") shall have a special tribute to the heroic veterans of the Stonewall Uprising that we have sadly lost over the decades!  There shall be the totally unique, very interesting, most informative and vivid recollections of actual veterans of the five-night Stonewall Rebellion and the Stonewall Era (1966 to 1969)!  The SVA's super special guest is former U.S. brigadier general and recent NYC mayoral candidate Loree K. Sutton!  The S.V.A. shall, as always, have a political guest speaker -- in fact, three!!!  One is an experienced and leading "Native New Yorker" candidate for mayor of the City of New York:  Kathryn Ann Garcia!  No mayoral candidate in the last half-century has won as mayor without the support and blessings of the S.V.A.  What a 'coincidence'!  No other organization can claim that mantra!  Every four years with the winner for 52 years... a coincidence?!  Another experienced person, especially as a former NYC councilwoman, is a candidate for Queens borough president:  Elizabeth Mary Crowley!  The third outstanding female candidate, a former district attorney staffer and a criminal defense lawyer for twenty years, is leading the charge for Manhattan district attorney:  Liz J. Crotty, Esq.!  The S.V.A. members -- and the huge website and the e-mail blasts and the direct mail and the phone banks, etc. -- plus all of the secret ingredients of the S.V.A. are always effective and a potential game-changer!  Duncheon meeting is at the Morandi Restaurant & Lounge at the diagonal corner of Seventh Avenue South and Waverly Place in Greenwich Village, NYC.  Start-up is @ 3:15 p.m. sharp!

Thursday, May 20 -- ORIGINAL STONEWALL CLUB JUKEBOX SONGSTRESS'S BIRTHDAY:  CHER!

Unless you were an original STONEWALL Club patron (1966 to 1969), you would not have known that 'dancing (birthday) queen' Cher had songs in that jukebox!  Even she did not know until we informed her several years ago!
See: https://www.StonewallVets.org/songsofStonewall-2.htm. The songs include the hit duet song "The Beat Goes On" with Sonny Bono and the non-hit (but nice) solo songs "Alfie" and "Our Day Will Come" by Cher!  "Believe" that six decades later, amazing Cher still delivers the glamour, the glitz and the hitz!  View the panoramic looks and styles of Cher over the past six decades as provided by the New York Post:

Saturday, April 24 -- S.V.A. MONTHLY MEETING and SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER

The STONEWALL Veterans' Association meeting will focus on planning for the SVA's yearly conference and reunion (on June 26).  The S.V.A. shall have an outstanding political guest speaker!  New York City Councilman Robert E. Cornegy, Jr. is the leading candidate for Brooklyn Borough President ("BBP") to succeed our friend, supporter and mayoral candidate Eric Lee Adams!  It is the strong position of this organization that Mr. Cornegy stands tall above all of his opponents in many ways!  Speaking of Brooklyn, it is relevant that a 4/5s majority of the SVA's board of directors have a Brooklyn residency connection!  Besides, the SVA's founder and director Willson Henderson was born in Brooklyn!  In addition, the S.V.A. has a satellite office in Brooklyn!  Since the Church is not yet open for meetings due to the Coronavirus pandemic, today the S.V.A. again has a 'duncheon' meeting at Morandi's Restaurant and Lounge on Seventh Avenue South at Waverly Place and Charles Street in Greenwich Village, NYC.  Start-up 'toasts' are @ 3:15 p.m. sharp!

Thursday, April 15 -- S.V.A. BIRTHDAY:  SCHEDULER RUTHYBIRD MARMELSTEIN

Saturday, March 27, 2021 -- STONEWALL VETS' ASSN. IN-PERSON SUPPER MEETING

The S.V.A. looks forward to hosting its first Spring get2gether for slowly improving 2021!  Due to the  one-year Coronavirus -- although the S.V.A. has had several meeetings -- the Church has not yet restored in-person group meetings, e.g., the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association ("S.V.A.") due to the international pandemic!  Nonetheless, we will be meeting!  Major topics include the upcoming S.V.A. "Stonewall 52 Conference & Reunion" (on June 26), the on-going worldwide sickener and/or killer pandemic, and the in-progress NYC mayoral contest (no 'The Schlub' nor other exclusionists, revisonists or libelers) and other elected NYC position contests.  Guest speaker:  Marni J. Halasa, the SVA-preferred New York City Council candidate for District 3 -- exactly where we are in Greenwich Village!  Unlike 'The Blotcher', honorable Marni is a supporter of the Stonewall Veterans.  The S.V.A. shall meet again at Morandi Italian Restaurant at the corner of Seventh Avenue South and the cross streets of Waverly Place and Charles Street in the West Village, NYC.  "The Happening" is co-hosted by that dynamic duo Willson Henderson and AnDre Christie!  Supper meeting 'eats up' @ 3:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.  Call the S.V.A. at (212) 627-1969 for more details.

Saturday, March 13 -- S.V.A. BIRTHDAY:  LEGAL COUNSEL HAL "HALLY" WEINER

Saturday, February 27, 2021 -- STONEWALL VETERANS' ASSOCIATION IN-PERSON SUPPER MEETING

Since the Church has understandably not yet restored in-person Sunday masses -- much less for registered group meetings, e.g., the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association ("S.V.A.") -- due to the worldwide pandemic, the S.V.A. cannot resume meeting at the Church in Greenwich Village, NYC.  How-be-ever, we'll be meeting!  Major topics include the forthcoming S.V.A. "Stonewall 52" anniversary conference, the on-going worldwide sickener and/or killer pandemic and the in-progress NYC mayoral contest (no 'Schlub') and other elected position contests.  Super guest is NYC mayoral candidate Brigadier General Loree K. Sutton -- unequivocably the best speaker of any mayoral candidate since Ed Koch!  The S.V.A. shall meet at the accommodating Morandi Italian Restaurant at the corner of Seventh Avenue South and Waverly Place in Greenwich Village.  "The Happening" is co-hosted by that out and about duo Willson Henderson and AnDre Christie!  Supper meeting 'eats up' @ 3:15 p.m. to 5 p.m.  Phone the S.V.A. at (212) 627-1969 for any further details.

STONEWALL Veterans' Association =Pandemic-Related= "Go-Fund-Us!"

"Extra!  Extra!  Read all about it!"  The STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association ("S.V.A."), like most everyone else, has been negatively affected due to the international Coronavirus plague and the resultant worldwide economic tsunami!  Various crucial events for the non-profit S.V.A. such as our annual New York City street-fair in May and our annual fund-raiser in June had to be cancelled; thus, a significant loss of needed revenue.  The SVA's annual conference and reunion had to be rescheduled out-of-season to mid-Summer -- and during a heat wave!  Nonetheless: 1) the building owners of the S.V.A. office, 2) the garage managers of the "Stonewall Car", and 3) the S.V.A. property and archives storage facility are still demanding due rent!  They are in addition to other necessary annual and monthly expenses for the S.V.A. such as:
the 'Stonewall Car' maintenance, printing, website hosting, transportation, vehicle registration, brochures, internet service, vintage car insurance, postage, electricity, auto repairs, letterheads, five telephone lines, license plates, website hosting, photographs, cellphones, business cards, food distribution, imprinted envelopes, speakers' bureau costs, office supplies, fax line and funeral expenses for demised Stonewall vets!
https://www.GoFundMe.com/f/support-Gay-Veterans-1969-Stonewall-Rebellion

The voluntary STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association is the one and only organization that has represented the actual veterans of the notorious Stonewall Police Raids and the historic Stonewall Rebellion and the real legacy of the "Stonewall" everything besides educating the World for over a half-century and counting!  The S.V.A. continues to do so on a daily basis with administrators, educators, teachers, students, et al. -- and the media!  The place "where Pride began" was begun by the people -- not the rented, commercial storefront nor their current, arrrogant, disrespectful, greedy owners!  Support the "Stonewall" surviviors and our history, our programs and our services!  The SVA's annual non-profit registration was recently renewed by the New York State Charities Bureau!

Saturday, January 30, 2021 -- STONEWALL VETERANS ASSOCIATION FIRST MEETIBG of the NEW YEAR!

This is now "Stonewall 52"!  Since the Church has understandably not yet restored in-person masses much less registered groups, e.g., the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association ("S.V.A.") due to the worldwide pandemic, the S.V.A. cannot meet at the Church.  However, we will meet privately at a Greenwich Village restaurant.  Supper meeting 'eats up' @ 3:15 p.m.  Call the S.V.A. at (212) 627-1969 for details.  NOTE:  Because of the limitations, this month's supper meeting must be only for S.V.A. members in good standing and our NYC Council member guest speaker!

In spite of the worst year of American history in the last century, the National STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association ("S.V.A.") traditionally weathers all of the wars, such as AIDS then and Coronavirus now, and all of the in-between storms and yet it soldiers on!  After all, somebody should represent and look out for the Stonewall veterans!  As the S.V.A. founder Willson Henderson publicly announced on record and on film at the SVA's annual conference this year:  "Stonewall Lives Matter"!  The SVA's Vice-President Bert Coffman reports on communications with New York City public officials.  SVA's on-again/off-again scheduler Ruthybird Marmelstein unveils planned pow-wows with various electeds and candidates for 2021.
Several Stonewall veterans have confirmed attendance for this last S.V.A. get2gether of the year!

Special guest speaker is Pam Lione, chief producer of the forthcoming  (repositioned) documentary "Inside STONEWALL!" with interviews, documents, testimonials and photographs never-before-seen -- in time for "Stonewall 52"!  Miss Lione has filmed several S/W vets from S.V.A. for the break-through G.L.B.T. project!  As a special holiday surprise, there will be a major NYC mayoral candidate, whom we are super thankful to have at the S.V.A.!  (No, it's not The Schlub.  And, Horey J. is a goner.)

This Thanksgiving weekend meeting will feature Thanksgiving-related decorations and turkey-related foods.  The venue is the Founders' Room at St. John's Lutheran Church at 83 Christopher Street in Greenwich Village, NYC.  Family-like get2gether festivities commence @ 3:15 p.m.  After the pow-wow, select S.V.A. officials and special guests have arranged for a Thanksgiving Weekend Dinner at Morandi Restaurant.  The eatery is around the corner from the Church on Seventh Avenue and up two blocks to the corners of Charles Street and Waverly Place.  Visit:  https://www.MorandiNY.com.

Thursday, November 26 -- THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY

Tuesday, November 24 -- FORMER NEW YORK CITY MAYOR DAVID N. DINKINS DIES at 93

Saturday, October 31st -- HALLOWEEN! (also known as GAY XMAS) - No Meeting

In accordance with a voted resolution made to the SVA's "Bi-Laws" by the members several years ago, besides not meeting on national holidays such as Christmas, the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association does not have to meet on holiday weekends such as Thanksgiving or on a non-federal holiday such as Halloween!  Furthermore, the area that the S.V.A. meets on Christopher Street in Gay Greenwich Village is extremely crowded and hectic on Halloween -- especially when it is a Saturday Halloween!  In fact, many streets, particularly Christopher, are necessarily blocked off to all vehicles.  Because of the people density, it would not be safe physical negotiating for our cherished elders of the Stonewall Era!

Saturday, August 29 -- S.V.A. SUMMER SUPPER SOIREE ('4-S')

Summertime greetings!  This Summer, unlike the "Stonewall Summer" of 1969, is more like "Summertime Blues"!  The current international health crisis situation is no-thanks wholly due to the sneaky, lying and corrupt Communist Chinese government dictatorship releasing a worldwide, sickening and killer virus with the added features of destroying economies, businesses and organizations -- and lives!  Whether it was accidental or deliberate is a question.  Thus, for the "SVA's Summer Supper Soiree", the event must be outdoors (where the Coronavirus is less likely but still possible to spread).  Event is entertainingly table 'n' chaired by the SVA's renowned founder Willson L. Henderson.

Sever
al S.V.A. officials provide updates!  Bert Coffman gives the
411 on duplicitous groups using our 'Stonewall' namesake such as the Stonewalling Democrat Club!  Ramon Bellido reports on the greedy, slanderous, disrespectful, self-serving, rip-off, selfish alleged "Stonewall Inn".  Through their Go-Fund-U$ website, with misleading and false claims, they've duped donors out of over $330,000 and counting!  There will be a special tribute to recently lost S/W vet Tony C. Viera, who passed away within two hours of arriving at a Bronx hospital!  The SVA's special guest this month is Donzel R. Williams ("DRW"), the SVA's original office manager -- once the S.V.A. obtained an office in 1980!  Most SVA-ers have not seen DRW in 30 years since the last "Stonewall Showtyme" at Club Lido in Long Island in the Summer of 1990!  Our co-host today is one of DRW's few successors, the SVA's general manager AnDre Christie.  Outdoor eatery is Coppelia Latin Restaurant at 207 West 14th Street right off Seventh Avenue on the border of Greenwich Village and Chelsea.  Ironically, it is on the same street where the S.V.A. was founded in July of 1969!  Festivities start @ 3:15 p.m.  Even though it's not Halloween yet, wear a mask!

Friday, August 28 -- REMEMBERING GAY and GREAT ENTERTAINER MICHAEL JACKSON (1958 to 2009)

Thursday, August 20 -- STONEWALL SPOUSE BIRTHDAY:  BOB ISADORE, MARRIED to DAVID BERMUDEZ of CAPE COD, MASSACHUSETTS

Sunday, August 16 -- STONEWALL VET BIRTHDAY:  RUSTY B. ROSE of LONG ISLAND

Friday, August 14 -- ANOTHER STONEWALL VETERAN DIES: ANTHONY 'TONY' VIERA of THE BRONX @ 70

Antonio C. Viera
, born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, emigrated to America with his family at a very young age.  They moved to The Bronx, where 'Tony', as he is known, went to school, lived, worked and died.  He is survived by his longtime boyfriend Chi and their dog Diva!

Friday, July 31 -- SVA's WILLSON HENDERSON on TELEVISION (3 CHANNELS) re:  PANDEMIC HEALTHCARE SERVICES and SUPPLIES

Saturday, July 25th, 2020 -- "SVA'S 51st ANNUAL CONFERENCE & STONEWALL VETERANS REUNION + EYEWITNESS TESTIMONIALS"

["S.V.A. 51st Conference & Stonewall Veterans Reunion" flyer crafted and designed by Kush Malik]

The National STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association ("S.V.A.") presents the much-anticipated, pandemic-repositioned and timely-needed "SVA's 51st Annual Conference & Stonewall Veterans Reunion + Testimonials" necessarily rescheduled (beyond our decision) from the last Saturday in June to the last Saturday of the following month on the 25th of July 2020 commencing @ 3:15 p.m.  The S.V.A. is most known as the organizational home for actual New York City police-raid victim patrons of the Original STONEWALL Bar & Dance Club (the "STONEWALL Club") and/or participants in the historic five-night 1969 Stonewall Rebellion for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender ("G.L.B.T.") rights!  The S.V.A. is the original, the authentic and the only barometer for everything "Stonewall"!  Unlike any organization in the world, the S.V.A. provides interviews about the Stonewall Era for civic institutions, symposiums,  schools, forums and all media who want to communicate with actual Stonewallers!

At this unique conference, there will be legendary 'veterans' of the police-raided original STONEWALL Club and the late June and early July 1969 Stonewall Uprising!  Confirmed "Stonewall Veterans" fabulously include (alphabetically by first name):  Allyson A. Allante (from America), Bert R. Coffman (from midtown Manhattan, NY), Clyde T. Meltzer (from South Bronx), Cristina Hayworth (from Puerto Rico), David V. Bermudez (from Cape Cod, MA),
David C. Scott (from Pennsylvania), Jitters M. Greenfield (from New Jersey), Keith E. Lonesome (from Brooklyn, NYC), Joani C. Sobel (from Upper West Side, NYC), Leigh P. McManus (from Long Island), Patti R. Stone (from Florida), Ramon F. Bellido (from Spanish Harlem, NYC),  Rusty B. Rose (from Long Island) and Tony Viera (from West Bronx, NYC).  Like the #1 Stonewall jukebox song by Marvin & Tammi clearly conveys: "Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing"!  It was a Gay identity theme song then and for the S.V.A. it still is our theme!  The SVA's conference is enthusiastically hosted by 'Stonewall veteran' (he coined the term), STONEWALL Veterans' Association founder, Proofreaders Unlimited, Ltd. owner, G.L.B.T. activist, Screen Actors Guild member for five decades, and S.R.V.A. boardmember for a half-century Willson Lee Henderson!

S.V.A. Guest Speakers:  The venerable Keynote Speaker is outstanding New York legislator and longtime S.V.A. honorary member U.S. Congressmember Carolyn Jane Maloney!  In fact, Congresswoman Carolina's congressional district unusually encompasses, not one but, three NYC boroughs:  Manhattan (East Side and Roosevelt Island), Queens (Long Island City and Astoria) and Brooklyn (Williamsburg and Greenpoint)!

Surprise!  A super special Surprise Guest Speaker shall be a 'major'
candidate for the New York City Mayor election next year!  (No, it's not The Schlub!)   The clue was 'major'.  Actually SHE was a 'general'!  Post-event answer:  Former twenty-five year U.S. Army brigadier general and chief psychiatrist and recent four-year NYC commissioner of veterans affairs and only 'major' female candidate for NYC mayor Loree K. Sutton!

There will be public official guest speakers such as additional U.S. congressmembers (no, not the Natler), N.Y. state senators (no, not Brat Hoylman), NYS assemblymembers (no, not Danny O'Dell), NYC borough presidents (no, not Ruby Diaz, Junior), NY Court judges (no, not Noach Deare), NYC councilmembers (no, not Horey Johnsin), district leaders (no, not 'Keen' Berger) -- and, yes, Federal, State and City candidates.  The latter include political public relationist Leticia Remauro for Staten Island borough president and Marni Halasa for NYC council Manhattan district #3 (where this event happens)!  Several public officials bestow the S.V.A. with laudatory proclamations and anniversary citations.  This S.V.A. event is always well-covered by all of the media -- television, radio and press, including regional newspapers, national magazines and community newsletters (no, not the noxious Schneps (aka Schleps)-owned NYC Gayragpaper, formerly LGBT New York then Gay City News aka Gay Sh*tty News and, now, lil' g.c.n.)!

Special S.V.A. Tribute:  The recently deceased Stonewall veteran 'Papa' Jean Devente with a full Gay life at nearly ninety years old is tributed!  Jean's last Gay community events were attending the "SVA's 48th Annual Conference & Stonewall Reunion" and leading the "NYC 48th Annual Gay Pride Parade" with the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association.  Jean proudly rode atop the back seat of a classic Mercedes in the flotilla of S.V.A. convertibles!  They were happy events and 'last hurrahs' for Jean seeing many Stonewall veteran comrades, friends and fans!
As shown in the photo link below, sitting next to Jean is NYS Supreme Court Justice Doris Ling-Cohan!  S.V.A. invited Jean's lifetime partner Evelyn Fitzsimmons to attend.  Read the parade story in the New York True magazine:   http://www.NewYorkTrue.com/photo-gallery-nyc-pride-march

Divine conference venue is the historic St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church at 81 Christopher Street off Seventh Avenue in Greenwich Village, NYC.  The 'Invocation' is delivered by the Church's openly-Gay pastor, the Reverend Mark E. Erson.  "Deja vu all over again":  On display -- back on Christopher Street, just like in 1969, this time directly in front of the Church, ironically with a NYCPD vehicle permit -- will be the automotive classic and historically famous blue 1969 convertible known as the "Stonewall Car"!  Conference director is the SVA's full-circle founder Willson L. Henderson.  Event manager is the SVA's handsome (and many say 'hot') general manager AnDre M. Christie.  Promotion is by Leticia M. Remauro, head of The Von Public Relations Agency with social media.  Advertising is the colorful, full-page, back cover of the highly-regarded WestView News with subscribers from NYC and particularly serving the West Village, NoHo and Greenwich Village, where the S.V.A. event is centered!  "Reflections", a #1 song in 1967 by the #1 singers in the popular Stonewall Jukebox, Diana Ross & The Supremes, is the opening sound @ 3:15 p.m.  The symbolic finale is the #1 closing song of virtually all Gay bar and Gay dance club jukeboxes throughout the 1960s and the 1970s by Miss Connie Francis: "Where The Boys Are (Someone Waits For Me)" also known as the 'National Gay Anthem'!

Guidelines:  Due to the international health emergency unequivocably and carelessly caused by the Wuhan Virus, the S.V.A. requires that everyone wear a face covering!  The sole exceptions are the safe-distanced host Willson at the S.V.A. dais and guest speakers when they are at the podium.  Latex gloves are optional.  The S.V.A. provides face masks and liquid hand sanitizers for all!

Foods are provided by Gristedes Supermarkets and Gormet Deli Departments

Thursday, July 23, 2020 --
REMEMBERING N.Y.C. COUNCILMAN JAMES E. "JED" DAVIS

This is the 17th tragic anniversary of the unwarranted loss of former NYCPD police officer and New York City Councilman James E. "Jed" Davis.  In an incident that shocked the entire nation, every news channel broke into their regular programming to report this tragedy 'live'!  City Hall went on instant lockdown!  Jed had as his political goal to become mayor of New York City!  We sure could use a Jed now!  Visit:  https://www.StonewallVets.org/JamesDavis.htm
For this anniversary remembrance occasion, a new "Jed" article from his hometown Brooklyn:

Tuesday, July 21 -- "ASK THE STONEWALL REBELLION EXPERTS":  The STONEWALL VETERANS!

The "Ask The Experts Show" of New York City appropriate new subject matter -- with the historic uprisng anniversary having concluded earlier this month and the anniversary of the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association (S.V.A.) now -- is the historic 1969 Stonewall Rebellion!  The show definitively features five actual Stonewall vets:  Willson Henderson from NYC, David Bermudez from Massachusetts, Rusty Rose from Long Island, Bert Coffman from Manhattan, and Nance Lomax
from Philadelphia!  The SVA's director Willson discusses the history of the Original STONEWALL Club and the "Songs of the Original STONEWALL Club Jukebox".  When he was 'apprehended' by undercover policemen the first night of the 1969 Stonewall Rebellion in The STONEWALL Dance Club half of the place, where the jukebox was unplugged in the middle of a Diana Ross & The Supremes' (DRS) song, the location was 51 Christopher Street.  That is now a nail salon.  It is not the 'Stonewall' anything!  SVA's first vice-president Berti exposes the ludicrous libel, personal attacks and dumb lies of the Schneps Publications owned NYC Gayragpaper and the new pending civil court case against the sleazesheet now the so-called and ambiguous "g.c.n."!  Rusty divulges many of the reasons that the "Heritage of Pride" (HOP) clan transgressed into the "Heritage of Shame" (HOS)!  Their worst attributes are disrespect, greed, jealousy and hate.
-----
The show is broadcast at 7 p.m. from the S.V.A. Facebook page and The Von Public Relations Agency YouTube page for one hour.  People can ask questions via FaceBook which will pop up on their screens during the interviews.  Leticia Remauro, the show's producer will host the interviews for the Stonewall vets to tell their stories of the STONEWALL Club then and the S.V.A. now!  Leticia will also moderate any incoming questions or comments.  One of the goals is to educate the general public and, especially, "The Young Folks" (the name of a DRS song in the S/W jukebox)!  That will explore about what Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (G.L.B.T.) life was like 51 years ago and how far things have advanced today!
The 'live' show on Tuesday, the 21st goes on the air at 7 p.m. sharp!

Saturday, July 18 --  MOTOWN LEGEND and STONEWALL JUKEBOX SONGSTRESS BIRTHDAY: MARTHA REEVES

Martha Reeves & The Vandellas had so many hit songs in the ~original~ STONEWALL Bar & Dance Club Jukebox during the Stonewall Era (1966 to 1969) that we wish her such a super happytime, peaceful and healthy birthday!  Martha and her Vandellas brought so much dancing joy to the Stonewall patrons!  Their hit songs in the jukebox included now classics such as "Dancing In The Street" (reissued by Motown Records in 1969) and "Jimmy Mack" (1967) and other hits like "My Baby Loves Me" and "I'm Ready For Love" from 1966; "Third Finger, Left Hand" and "Love Bug Leave My Heart Alone" from 1967; "Honey Chile" and "I Promise To Wait My Love" from 1968; "We've Got Honey Love" and "Bless U, Bless Me" from 1969!  Several SVA-ers saw Martha and her girls (Lois Reeves and Delphine Reeves) in concert several months ago in Staten Island!  To see photographs, record album covers, a singles records discography, and holiday cards and personal notes from Miss Reeves, please visit:  https://www.StonewallVets.org/songsofStonewall-7.htm.

Sunday,  July 12 -- S.V.A. SOCIAL COMMITTEE DINNER MEETING at MASALA RESTAURANT

The SVA's Social Committee held a productive and exciting dinner meeting at Masala King Indian-American Restaurant in midtown Manhattan, NYC.  The main topic was the upcoming "SVA's 51st Annual Conference & Stonewall Reunion".  Besides the key committee members, the pow-wow was attended by four of the five S.V.A. boardmembers namely Willson Henderson, Sanjay Peters, Steven Gradman and Ramon Bellido.  The get2gether was marvellously hosted by Kush Malik.  The outdoor dining meeting was for a lively three hours from 7 to 10 p.m.

Saturday, July 11th, 2020 -- STONEWALL REBELLION VETERANS ASSOCIATION'S 51st ANNIVERSARY!

Wednesday, July 8 -- REISSUED: THE SPECTATOR GAY PRIDE INTERVIEW with WILLSON HENDRSON

Due to popular demand and positive feedback, the
tell-it-like-it-is interview with Willson L. Henderson ("WLH") in The Spectator/U.S. Edition has been reissued!  Openly-Gay, seasoned writer Chadwick Moore combines a three-part interview with WLH into one blast-off!  Feature story is appropriately titled:  "Happy Pride! Time To Topple Some Stonewall Myths"!  The truth about 'Stonewall' and the lies about 'Stonewall' are, alas, exposed mainstream head-on!  For example, with a mere twenty-two Stonewall arrests spanning a full week, all of whom were White, with 21 out of 22 who were Males, and no hospital admissions and no insurance claims, it is assinine that anyone who knows the facts -- that excludes the fading Advocate and the faded Gayragpaper -- would believe that the mild civil rights event was a 'riot' and ignited by Black 'trannies'!  The article is topped by a colorful, close-up photograph of the famous blue 1969 convertible known as the "Stonewall Car" leading a New York City Gay Pride parade.  The photo shows several Stonewall veterans such as Willson, Storme DeLarverie, Bert Coffman, Cristina Hayworth, David Bermudez, Rose Giordano, Bill Saltzman, et al. in and around the classic vehicle!  The car is carefully being driven by the SVA's handsome manager AnDre M. Christie!  The article is so current that it includes WLH's pending lawsuit (once the NYC courts re-open) against the libelous Schneps Media for slander, defamation, personal attacks and loss of reveue due to their publishing the trailer trash fabrications scribbled via the perennial poison pen of the dubious Druncan X. Ozburn!  Shame on Schleps Communications for having an unacceptable, low level of journalistic ethics!  Unlike the Gayragpaper, the professional Spectator publication proudly includes an active link (as is customary in any story by any legitimate press) to the SVA's extremely popular, informative, interesting and unabashedly unique website!

Tuesday, July 7 -- CONGRATULATORY LETTER to S.V.A. from U.S. CONGRESSMAN HAKEEM JEFFRIES

Monday, July 6 -- POST-PRIDE STATEMENT from STONEWALL UPRISING VETERAN RUSTY B. ROSE

Happy Gay Independence!  Revisionists be damned!  RuPaul Drag Race runs a false banner stating: Pride started as a protest by a black trans women! What! This is worse than the make-believe 'brick' myth!  Next topic: For a few years now, some alleged writers, supposed journalists and wannabe authors have been 'cherry picking' who to advance (especially if they're long dead) as being instrumental in our G.L.B.T. movement and history. They have been promoting certain Stonewall individuals because of footage showing their presence at events years after the Stonewall rebellion, e.g., the Washington Square rally in 1974.  Cherry-picked are former and deceased members of the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association.  They are the under-credited Storme DeLarverie and the infamous "Marsha and Sylvia".  All other S.V.A. members are deliberately disregarded -- mainly because they're alive and can talk back!  Revisionists 'glorify' some characters and call them 'icons' while discounting actual Stonewallers.  This must be corrected by professional, unbiased, truthful reporters and by the S.V.A.!

During research, if one 'searches' Stonewall, our S.V.A. association is rightfully the first (and second and third...) selections. We  expect that soon in the 'search' you will see the upcoming documentary "Inside STONEWALL!" with historic footage and interviews with several Stonewall veterans including myself, Tony Viera, Bert Coffman and Molly Bennett Aitken.  Another point - Willson Henderson and others at the original Stonewall Club: That Friday night, June 27th, I vividly recall some who were detained inside by the police, me being one of them, and who was 'pinned' outside the club on the street - Willson, with Storme DeLarverie shouting to the cops: 'Let that boy go'. Get off that boy'!  To quote a known phrase: You won't read that in the Gayragpaper!  Pun intended, hope they fold!

In solidarity,
Rusty

Saturday, July 4th, 2020 -- AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE HOLIDAY

Friday, July 3rd -- "GAY INDEPENDENCE DAY"

"Gay Independence Day" July 3rd!  As usual, you are not going to read that watershed date in the Schneps-owned 'g.c.n.' aka the Gayragpaper!  Why?  They wouldn't know until they read it at the informative S.V.A. website and in our "STONEWALL Newzletta"!   That is why we strategically delayed posting this historic G.L.B.T. his/herstory fact for a day.  (It was indicated nowhere else).

Tuesday, June 30 -- S.V.A. WEBSITE STATISTICS TALLY 300,000+ VERIFIED VISITS

The STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association ("S.V.A.") had a highly-successful Gay Pride Month with verified visits to the SVA's website.  Unlike other Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender ("G.L.B.T.") organiztions, the S.V.A. not only proudly announces its monthly website, but the S.V.A. proves it!  Note that the statistic figures include direct visits to the website plus Google and Bing search engines.  The independent HTML stats system (queerly) does not include the Ask.com, Yahoo, AOL, etc. search engines.  Visit:  https://www.StonewallVets.org/stats/2020_06.html

Monday, June 29 -- EXCERPTS from WILLISON' HENDERSON's GAY PRIDE INTERVIEW in THE SPECTATOR

Appropriately for Gay Pride Month, the internationally known publication The Spectator obtained an extensive interview with Willson Henderson ("WLH") the founder and elected director of the International STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association ("S.V.A.") .  Among the many myths about the Stonewall Uprising is that it was not started by any drag queens!  It's sad that the G.L.B.T. communities and many in the media cannot simply describe the reality and tell the ruth!  The patrons at the original STONEWALL Club-- not the half-real store that's there now -- was mainly a White Gay boys establishment run by White Mafia men!  The latter virtually did not allow transgender anything into the club!  No transgender anything were arrested!  Of the total of just 22 people arrested over the first three nights, all 22 were White!  And, 21 of the 22 were male!  Of course, there was some variety at The STONEWALL with many Italian guys, lesbians, Jewish boys, dykes, some males of color, bisexuals, fag-hags, straights, down-lows, et al.  None of the aforementioned ever get 'credit' for being there!  Since the seasoned and good-lookin', openly-Gay author with stylish silvery hair Chadwick Moore is quite knowledgeable about the real history of the Stonewall Era, he inquired and guided questions typically not asked of anyone.  Chad knew he was talking to someone, WLH, who was the 'Stonewall' consulatnt on both "STONEWALL" feature films and literally, as a regular and popular patron, had all the Stonewall answers!  For example, no one threw 'the first brick'!  To quote Willson, "The Brick Store was closed!"  It wasn't like Frisco 2020 where bricks were delivered in wheelbarrels by organized anarchists!  The original STONEWALL Club was a wonderful, friendly and happy place with great music in the jukebox!  It was for all practical and social purposes, the first Gay community center!  Stop tearing down its real his/herstory!

Sunday, June 28 -- "HERITAGE of PRIDE" aka 'HERITAGE of SHAME' SHAMEFULLY CONTINUES THEIR CRUSADE of DISRESPECT and HATE

The Heritage of Pride ("HOP") aka 'Heritage of Shame' ("HOS") shamefully continues to attempt to 'Steal Stonewall'!  The brain-washed HOPers, resembling a third-rate cult, continue to demonize instead of praise the actual veterans of the original Stonewall Club's dangerous police raids and the historic Stonewall Uprisng!  What could be their motive?  This toxic reality is unfortunate, however, true and must be exposed!

Sunday, June 28 -- ABC-TV's ANEMIC 'GAY PRIDE' SHOW BOMBED

Because of the sickening and killing worldwide Wuhan Virus Pandemic and the sometimes overwhelming Black Lives Matter  movement, there was relatively little real interest in Gay Pride this year!  The parade was cancelled, the streetfair was cancelled.  The rally was cancelled.  The dance was canclled.  The STONEWALL Inn is closed!  Clearly, the ABC-TV shallow and boring two hour program, pretending that there was a non-existent Gay Pride parade, bombed.  ABC' s local NYC producesrs have a pattern of bombed Gay programs like their total bore last year with "Secrets of Stonewall 1969".  They failed to reveal one secret!  Unbelievably, none of the various giggly co-hosts ever mentioned the word "Gay"!  That's like a Columbus Day celebration and not mentioning "Italian"!  The ABC-TV show street hosts and third-rate entertainers (all of whom lip-synched and did so badly) never mentioned the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association ("S.V.A.").  Wtf?  Why do they think they were there?  The non-profit and voluntary S.V.A. is composed of the surviving, alleged heroes of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender ("G.L.B.T.") communities.  The folks at ABC-TV, in cahoots with the factually-challeneged and self-serving  Heritage of Shame ("HOP") organization, must imagine that the rented Stonewall store made the old walls come alive to ignite the rebellion!

Saturday, "June 27th" -- SVA's MONTHLY MEETING VIRUS-FORCED to CANCEL

Unfortunately, since organizational meeting spaces are still not allowed to be available due to the dangerous Wuhan Virus health pandemic until after Independence Weekend, the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association ("S.V.A.")  -- by decree -- must also cancel its June monthly meeting --  for the first time ever and incredibly during Gay Pride Month!  But, the 'protest' marches, that is an entirely different story and a damn double standard!!  They are allowed even with their thousands in the streets but not the legendary senior citizens and their guest totalling about one hundred or so indoors and in a church!

Ironically, today is the *most important date in G.L.B.T. history*:  June 27th!  You will not read that Gay historical reality in the history-deprived and interest-negligent NYC Gayragpaper aka 'gcn'  Most in the G.L.B.T. communities have no clue!  For general suggestions or questions, phone the S.V.A. office at (212) 627-1969 with voicemail!

"27th of June" -- THE MOST IMPORTANT DATE in GAY HISTORY:  JUNE 27th!

Fifty-one years ago in Manhattan, NYC, on Friday, June 27th, 1969, the day of international entertainer, actress, singer, Gay icon Judy Garland's funeral also in Manhattan -- the first night of the Stonewall incident, happenstancely ignited the modern Gay Rights movement!  The New York City Police Department raided (once again and again) the Mafia-run, yet accommodating, original STONEWALL Bar.  Since the clock passed midnight by an hour or so, the police time registered as the 28th.  Gay time was that Friday night the 27th.  Nobody looked at their watch (if they were wearing a timepiece) and exclaimed -- especially at a Gay bar and dance club -- "Ohhh, look, it's past midnight"!  In fact, The Beatles #1 song described that sad day and unique night: "A Hard Day's Night"!  The following evening, Saturday, June 28th, was the second night of the Stonewall Rebellion!  Again, in Gay time, the first night was the 27th of June 1969!

Friday, June 26 -- STONEWALL VET BIRTHDAY:  SONNY CARSON of MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA

Rufus "Sonny" Carson
, a handsome, well-built, tall, Black male is a veteran of the first night of the Stonewall Uprising on Friday, June 27th, 1969!  He looked like one of The Temptations!  Sinny just had his birthday party at The STONEWALL Club the night before!  Most interesting, besides a vet, he was one of the few Stonewall employees!  Sonny was one of the alternate -- and only person of color -- bouncers at the original STONEWALL Club!  He was also a bouncer at one of the Gay after-hour clubs.  Thus, Sonny was, of course, known to the local NYCPD Sixth Precinct police.  It is pitiful how he has been overlooked by Gay history writers.  But, they couldn't write what they didn't know and failed to find out.  Clearly, Creepy Carter's bombed book was not 'definitive' as the NYC Gayragpaper falsifies!  Sonny was and is a big fan of the 1969 blue convertible known as the "Stonewall Car"!  The S.V.A. plans to arrange legendary Sonny Carson traveling to NYC for the "SVA's Conference & Stonewall Veterans Reunion" on July 25th!

Wednesday, June 24 -- THE SPECTATOR PUBLICATION CONVENES HISTORICAL INTERVIEW with WILLSON HENDERSON

Appropriately, during Gay Pride Week, The Spectator publication reached out to an actual participant (not just a 'spectator', although there were dozens of spectators who saw him in action) in the historic 1969 Stonewall Rebellion!  He is the founder of the legendary STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association:  the innovative and persevering director of the S.V.A. -- elected annually by actual Stonewall veterans -- Willson L. Henderson.  Readers will have a factual insight and unique glimpse of the actual Stonewall Uprising!  No, it was not a 'riot'!  You can see real 'riots' on all current news shows and the front pages of all newspapers.  No, it wasn't started by 'trans women of color' (and other new century terminology that did not exist then) or other segments that were not allowed in the original STONEWALL Club-- not the version that's there now!  There were twenty-two arrests spanning the first three nights of the event: all 22 were White!  And, 21 of 22 were male!  Source, besides spectators, the NYCPD.  It's a matter of police record.  Openly-Gay author Chadwick Moore explores what many in the G.L.B.T. community have known for decades but nobody has fully detailed it in print until now!  'Along the Gay', Chadda gets a few things mixed up like reversed non-roles of Skunkgirl Sylvia and Musha Marsha.  But he gets that bottom line right:  Neither outcast had any role in the Stonewall Rebellion; neither were there and neither were allowed in the club!  In sharp contrast, educated and employed then, since and now, Willson Henderson was also the "Stonewall" advisor on the musical "Stonewall: Night Variations" for Stonewall 25 in 1994, thw official 'Stonewall' consultant on the first "Stonewall" full-length feature film directed by Nigel Finch and Christine Vaschon in 1996, and the sole "Stonewall" consultant on the big production "STONEWALL!" movie by the remarkable director Roland Emmerich in 2015.

Tuesday, June 23 -- PRIMARY ELECTION DAY in NEW YORK, U.S.A.

Any U.S.A. election day is always significant to the survivors of the Stonewall Era and the
SVA's veterans of the 1969 Stonewall Rebellion as it has been for 51 years!  In the Summer of 1969, S.V.A. members successfully worked to help Mayor John Lindsay -- and on a third party political line -- win re-election that November!  "They" said he wouldn't win; SVA-ers said he would!  Lettuce fast forward to 2020!  Today is an opportunity to support the U.S. congressmembers in New York City who respect and support the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association such as Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, Congressman Eliot Engel, Congresswoman Yvette Clarke, Congressman Adriano Espaillat and Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez among others -- and not support (and hopefully oust) those who do not namely Jerrold "The Phat Man" Natler!  Be sute to V-O-T-E -- it is the ultimate tradition of America!

Monday, June 22 -- WILLSON HENDERSON INTERVIEWED by 'THE CITY' ON-LINE PUBLICATION

Saturday, June 20 -- STONEWALL JUKEBOX SONGSTRESS BIRTHDAY:  BRENDA HOLLOWAY

Brenda Holloway
was one of the perennial favorites in the ~original~ STONEWALL Club jukebox (1966 to 1969).  Some of Brenda's many popular songs on Motown Records include "Every Little Bit Hurts" (pre-Stonewall Era),  "(What Are U Going To Do) When I'm Gone" (written and produced by Smokey Robinson), "Just Look What You've Done" (redone by Frankie Valli in the mid-1970s as a disco hit) and the now international standard "You've Made Me So Very Happy" (besides sung, written by Brenda)!  And, she is still performing!  For more on birthday Brenda Holloway, including discography and photos, visit:  https://www.StonewallVets.org/songsofStonewall-5.htm.

Saturday, June 20 -- "TEN DAYS of GAY PRIDE" STARTS TODAY

The countdown  of the "Ten Days of Gay Pride" this year 2020 is from June 19th through June 28th  The S.V.A. holds a special and private social committee meeting today (recipients are informed where and when) to focus on the planned activities of the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association during this period.  Among many other responsibilities and commitments, the S.V.A. must also have its classic blue 1969 convertible a.k.a. the "Stonewall Car" fully serviced to be on display for Gay Pride Weekend and at the SVA's annual conference next month (July 25th).  FYI, the famous vehicle has not been used since "Stonewall 49"!!  This year, for your information, is "Stonewall 51"!

Friday, June 19 -- RuPAUL CHARLES IS a STONE-COLD FACED LIAR

RuPaul Charles's latest fraud is printing on the television screen of her over-rated t.v. show that "The Stonewall Rebellion was started by a Black trans woman".  Wtf?  Laughable except the ridiculous falsehood is viewed over the year by millions of people and some of whom then repeat the lie!  Among other FACTS, there were 21 Gay people arrested over the first three nights (none on the third and fourth evenings) of the incident:  all were White!  Twenty-one of twenty-two were males!  No drag queens, no cross-dressers and no flame queens.  None were transgender anything.  Next, Ru will be stating that the American Founding Fathers with the same wigs were really trannies -- and of color!  Besides a liar, to prove what a hypocrite RuPaul is, she never did Aretha's "Respect" with the S.V.A., or contacted nor contributed a dollar to the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association which is known for having several well-known, actual veterans of the 1969 uprising such as Storme DeLarverie, Stanley Dunne, Magora Kennedy, Leroi Carr and Nance Lomax among others!  They were attendees at the demonstrations, they didn't start it.   RuPaul: stop lying, bitch!

Wednesday,  June 17 -- MORE SHAME on the HETEROSEXUALLY-OWNED, RIP-OFF 'STONEWALL INN'

Although it is widely know that the legendary STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association has a duly-deserved "Gaycott" against the slanderous and selfish "Stonewall Inn" owned by greedy straight men Anthony DeCico and Bill Morgan -- how do you spell rip-off -- it was understandably not known by one out-of-town senior citizen Stonewall veteran.  Robert A. Spiegel of DC reports:  "I sent numerous previous and prospective supporters, including the supposed Stonewall Inn, a one-page donor letter and accompanying S.V.A. sponsorship form  in connection with the Stonewall Rebellion anniversary and the non-profit S.V.A.  While most of the letter recipients responded positively with support or at least replied, The Stonewall Inn was not among them!  Most people know that the real Stonewall bar owners behave badly particularly as everyone knows that the bastards wouldn't be in business if it were not for the veterans o the original STONEWALL Club!  Basically, Mr. DiCico and Mr. Morgan are saying, especially during the current killer health pandemic: drop dead suckers!"

Monday, June 15 -- PUBLIC OFFICIAL S.V.A. SUPPORTERS PRAISE GAY WIN SUPREME COURT DECISION

First out of the gate, and most appropriately, is the signer of the Marriage Equality law in New York:  Governor Andrew Mario Cuomo ("AMC").  "The Supreme Court has made history, affirming what we've long known in New York:  All Americans, including LGBT people, must be protected from discrimination in the workplace.  New York State was the birthplace of the modern LGBT rights movement and has long been the nation's torchbearer of equality...."  In contrast, the sensible-challenged Jerr-old "The Phat Man" Natler barked:  "This decision is a rebuke of the Trump Administration...."  Really?  The two Supreme justices that made the powerful decision a win for Gays, et al. -- otherwise, it would have been a 5/4 against -- are both appointed by... Republican presidents... George W. Bush, Jr. and President Donald Trump!  Duh!

"Monday, Monday", June 15 -- SUPREME COURT DECIDES to BAN GAY DISCRIMINATION in JOBS

The United States of America Supreme Courthas made landmark decisions on behalf of the greater Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender ("G.L.B.T.") communities such as 'Gay Marriage' during Gay Pride Month!  This year's June Gay Pride Month is no exception!  The 'revolutionary' decision -- making it a crime to discriminate against GLBTs in employment -- won by an outstanding 6-to-3 margin!  It also protects Gay and Transgender people from being fired just for being who they are now guaranteed by the Civil Rights Act of 1964!  And to think (a reality-check for the liars and haters such as the Gayragpaper and SDC) that "it all ignited", mostly by Gay boys and Gay girls, at the original STONEWALL Gay Bar & Dance Club in Greenwich Village, NYC, USA!

Thursday, June 4 -- 'STONEWALL' DEMOCRAT CLUB PUTS OUT ANOTHER STUPID and INSULTING  EMALE

The so-called Stonewall Democratic Club ("SDC") also known as the Stonewalling Democrat Clan, a group that is most known for deceptively ripping off the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association, has put out another stupid and insulting emale!  The SDC is an egregious offense to all heroic Stonewall veterans -- alive and dead!  It must be Gay Pride Month -- it unfortunately brings out some jealous haters from within the G.L.B.T. communities.  SDC's stupid and insulting e-male has the subject:  "Stonewall was a riot!".  It would be stupid enough but to write that when there are actual 'riots' across America insuring endless people -- one killed -- and millions of dollars in destruction and ruing businesses and people's lives makes it all the stupider -- especially when the reality is that "the Stonewall Rebellion (get it?) was not a 'riot'!  This S.D.C.is a factually- and ethically-challeged group that asks candidates verbally, besides on a written form to be signed, if they ever voted for a Republican?  Dumb question!  In New York City, how do you think that Republican mayors LaGuardia, Lindsay, Giuliani and Bloomberg, e.g., got elected and re-elected (and re-elected)?  They won with Democratic voters.  Nonetheless, what the SDC does not reveal is that not only do many, if not most, perhaps all, of their members vote for a Republican but the club itself has endorsed a Republican(s)!  This is just one example of their diviseness and duplicity.  Hey, SDC: change your name!

Wednesday, June 3 -- STONEWALL VET BIRTHDAY:  MICHAEL IRA SWERDLOW from LONG ISLAND

Monday, June 1st, 2020 -- FIRST NEW YORK OFFICIAL to CONTACT the S.V.A. for GAY PRIDE MONTH:  GOVERNOR ANDREW CUOMO

Gay * PRIDE * Month

Saturday, May 30 -- PLANNED PRE-PRIDE MONTH MEETING MUST BE Re-SCHEDULED DUE to HEALTH PANDEMIC

Update:  Unfortunately, the S.V.A. cannot have its planned Pre-Pride meeting due to the
health safety situation caused by the Wuhan Virus epidemic.  The state "pause" has not
yet been lifted for any organizations to have public meetings.  In New York City, for
example, sadly, there are still about one hundred deaths daily!  See you on June 27th!

Wednesday, May 27 -- STONEWALL VETERAN BIRTHDAY:  JOANI C. SOBEL aka J.C. of MANHATTAN

Tuesday, May 26 -- SVA's WILLSON HENDERSON FILES LAWSUIT AGAINST THE SCHLEPS' GAYRAGPAPER

The SVA's founder Willson L. Henderson --despite all of the courts being closed due to the Wuhan Virus pandemic -- was able, thanks to a timely new option as of today, to file the court lawsuit against shady, schmeary and slanderous Schneps Communications on-line!  What a swell feature!  The charges are:  Libel, defamation, slander, personal attacks and loss of income resulting from the printed confabulations!  Schleps Media has a pattern of out-of-control trash journalism.  Like Willson learned from his father:  "If you don't fight back... you lose"!  Once a delayed (due to the pandemic) court date is set, stay tuned for the first court appearance rundown on the lowdowners!

Monday, May 25 -- MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY:  REMEMBERING THOSE WHOM WE HAVE LOST

Wednesday, May 20 -- S.V.A. STAFF BIRTHDAY:  ELDON JOHNSON, YOUTH-4-SVA ORGANIZER

Wednesday, May 20 -- ORIGINAL STONEWALL CLUB JUKEBOX SONGSTRESS's BIRTHDAY:  CHER!

Saturday, May 23 -- N.YS. GOVERNOR'S OFFICE CALLS (AGAIN) CHECKING on the STONEWALL VETS

The executive department person calling the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association on behalf of New York State Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, and others on his staff, have regularly followed-up out of concern during a deadly health epidemic for the definitively legendary yet, nonetheless, particularly vulnerable surviving members of the historic 1969 Stonewall police raids and G.L.B.T. rebellion.  It is no secret that the Stonewall vets are, now, all senior citizens and, in addition, most presumably have serious 'underlying conditions'.  For example, one S.V.A. member if put on a vigorous ventilator would soon kill him due to a lung situation.  The S.V.A. wholeheartedly appreciates the sincere concern and the renewed offer to help the S.V.A. in any way!  (Clearly, the governor and his staff are in sharp contrast to the irresponsibility, ignorance and rudeness of electeds such as The Schlub and Horey J. and Ruby Diaz Jr.!)  The S.V.A. and all citizenry greatly appreciate Governor Cuomo's daily and detailed, sit-down press conferences on the current health pandemic with the epicenter in New York City!

Friday, May 15 -- HERITAGE of SHAME aka 'HERITAGE of PRIDE' STILL HASN'T LEARNED THEIR LESSON

Heritage of Pride ("HOP"), known more now for its money, money, money trajectory, has again (and again) ignorantly displayed its collective rudeness reinforcing its also known as Heritage of Shame("HOS")!  No one at the original STONEWALL Club from 1966 through 1969 would have ever imagined that Gays would be able to legally marry each other!  Nor would any of said G.L.B.T. people have horrored that there would be a group that started fifteen years later after US would then on the fiftieth anniversary ignore and insult said heroes of the subsequent 1969 5-night Stonewall Rebellion!  The dysfunctional and largely ungrateful communities have an increasingly bad pattern of not giving credit where credit is (over)due!    Incredibly, HOS's ludicrous lies have become so outlandish that they no longer know what their lying about!  To be continued.... Court filings resume soon!

Saturday, May 9:  GAY ROCK 'n' ROLL 'n' SOUL LEGEND DIES: LITTLE RICHARD @ 87

Wednesday, May 6 -- WILLSON HENDERSON LAWSUIT vs. GAYRAGPAPER IGNITES WHEN COURTS RE-OPEN

Someone -- namely the STONEWALL Rebellion Veteans Association's founder and figure head Willson L. Henderson -- in the dysfunctional Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender ("G.L.B.T.") communities has to stand up to the slanderers in the heterosexually-owned and journalistic ethically-deprived Schneps Media aka Schleps Communications dba Gay City News aka Gay Sh*tty News aka Gayragpaper now the lower-cased and low-life 'gcn'!!  That person to stand up is Willson!  What else is new already?  The Gayragpaper's persistent poison pen Druncan Ozburn aka Duncan Osborne (from Massachusetts not NY) is the despicable reason for the necessary lawsuit.  It's similiar to GOAL's openly-Gay Tom Verni having to sue David Kilmnick of the Long Island GLBT Network!  And for the same reasons:  libel, defamation and slander.  Druncan acts and poison pens as if he were in NYC in 1969.  He wasn't.  Like the popular song, Willson is the "Native New Yorker"!  Stay tuned for the reopening of the Courts!

Sunday, May 3 -- ORIGINAL STONEWALL JUKEBOX STAR BIRTHDAY:  FRANKIE VALLI

Saturday, 2 May -- 50 YEARS of GAY PRIDE PERSONS and NEW YORK CITY G.L.B.T. PARADES

The STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association is featured in an out-standing collage of individual photos of dozens of Stonewall veterans.  There are many photos from many Gay Pride parades in New York City.  Also shown is the famous, classic, blue 1969 "Stonewall Convertible"!  The photographs span five decades from 1969 to 2019!  Collection of photos created by Leticia Remauro of The Von Agency.

Friday, May 1 -- REMEMBERING NYC PARKS COMMISSIONER and S.V.A. SUPPORTER HENRY J. "STARQUEST" STERN (1935-2019)

May 2020 -- THE U.S. PRESIDENT DECLARES:  "OLDER AMERICANS MONTH"

"Older Americans Month", stemming from the current worldwide pandemic, is totally relevant to all of the veterans of the 1966 to 1969 Stonewall police raids and the 1969  Stonewall uprising as all of the Stonewall veterans are (drum roll)... older Americans!  The members of the National STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association ("S.V.A.") are especially appreciative of this relevant recognition and timely concern.  As everybody in the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender ("G.L.B.T.") community knows
(except perhaps the Schleps-owned Gayragpaper creeps), the most vulnerable to the deadly Wuhan virus pandemic in the G.L.B.T. communities are unquestionably the elders!

Saturday, April 25 -- MONTHLY MEETING of STONEWALL VETS CANCELLED due to PANDEMIC

New York State Governor and longtime S.V.A. supporter Andrew M. Cuomo
announced today, the 6th of April, that during this pandemic New York
State on P.A.U.S.E. has been extended through April 29th. This means
that non-essential businesses and all schools will remain closed. New
Yorkers must continue to stay at home, follow the social distancing
protocols when outside, including staying at least six feet away
from others when in public, and preferably wearing face coverings.
Thus, this S.V.A. meeting must be cancelled! See you on 30th of May!
-------------
Meanwhile, unlike thoughtless NYC-wide officials, the Governor's office
has contacted the S.V.A. different ways and different times during this
deadly pandemic, particularly for G.L.B.T. senior citizens! For your
informatiom, all of the Stonewall veterans are obviously senior elders!
If someone was 18 in 1969, they would be, at least, 68 now or much more!
The NYS Department of Health has declared: "Seniors, and persons with
pre-existing medical issues, are most vulnerable to the Corona Virus
(COVID-19) and are disproportionately likely to develop severe health
complications as a result of infection".
 That reality is common sense!

.

Friday, April 24 -- STONEWALL JUKEBOX SUPERSTAR BIRTHDAY: BARBRA STREISAND

Wednesday, April 8 -- REMEMBERING STONEWALL VET RAY McCAFFREY (Feb. 20, 1932 - April 8, 2019)

Sunday, April  5 -- STONEWALL VETERAN + SVA MEMBER 'PAPA' JEAN V. DEVENTE DIES in CT at 88 1/2

The independent and irrasible 'Papa' Jean V. Devente -- a
cherished old-school dyke from a bygone era -- died peacefully in his home state of Connecticut at nearly ninety years old!  The last time that Papa Jean was publicly seen in the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender ("G.L.B.T.") community was, most appropriately, with the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association ("S.V.A.") and, also ironically appropriate, in the annual New York City Gay Pride Parade in 2017!  Jean's last G.L.B.T. photo was leading that parade with the S.V.A. in the SVA's flotilla of classic convertibles.  Jean is survived by longtime and loyal partner Evelyn Fitzsimmons for over four decades!  Evelyn always accompanied Jean at S.V.A. events and NYC parades.  See 'Papa' Jean in the attached story and Gay Pride parade photo:  http://www.NewYorkTrue.com/photo-gallery-nyc-pride-march.

Notes:  The care-less New York True reporter, 'John Kenny', referred to the generic "Stonewall veterans" several times including the fact that we led the "NYC 48th Annual Gay Pride Parade"!  However, he failed to ever state the name of the organization:  STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association ("S.V.A.")!  Mr. Kenny also failed to report the fact that Jean Devente was riding in one of the S.V.A. flotilla of classic convertibles -- arranged by the SVA's director Willson Henderson.  The not-so-newsy reporter ignored the reality that sitting atop the back seat of the vintage Mercedes convertible next to 'Papa' Devente is... NYS Supreme Court Justice Doris Ling-Cohan -- an honorary member of the S.V.A.!  And, in fact, NYC mayoral candidate Paul J. Massey, Jr., who was mentioned, was the guest of -- you guessed it -- the S.V.A.!

                                                  .

Monday, April 1st (April Fool's Day) -- SVA's WILLSON' HENDERSON SLANDER SUIT  VS. SCHNEPS MEDIA dba GAYRAGPAPER

For the past two decades, when members, supporters and sponsors of the Stonewall Rebellion Veterans Association ("S.V.A.") think of "April Fools", they instantly think of the fool-hearty and foolish Gay City News aka Gay Sh*tty News aka GayRagPaper now liddle g.c.n.', currently in its sixth set of six owners, now the allegedly heterosexual mommy 'n' sonny (Vicky Sue and Joshie) duo publishers of Schneps Communications aka Schleps Media!  To paraphrase a popular ant-acid televison commercial:  How do you spell 'trash'?  SVA's founder Willson L. Henderson (WLH") has announced that he will personally sue the Schleps dba Gayragpaper!  Although the Schleps know that the sleaze article by the dubious Druncan Ozburn and despicably published on the eve of "Stonewall 50" against the legendary S.V.A. and its luminary director WLH is libelous and defamatory, they have kept it posted on the internet for nearly a year!  The last time that WLH sued the NYC Gayragpaper (five owners ago), the NYC Civil Court famously declared Willson as the "Gay Rosa Parks.... who continues to fight for G.L.B.T. rights"!  Insofar as all of the Courts (except criminal, of which this case is reminiscent) are closed due to the worldwide pandemic, the pending lawsuit is simply delayed.  The main target of the maliciousness and lies, Willson has his legal suit against the Schneps aka the Schleps on hold.  The paperwork is completed!  It shall be processed promptly on the reopening of the New York City Courts!

Saturday, March 28 -- STONEWALL VETERANS ASSOCIATION MEETING CANCELLED

After more than a half century of existence, the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Asssociation, unfortunately, due to unforeseen worldwide circumstances of a contageous virus, the venue where the S.V.A. meets, St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenwich Village, understandably must suspend all meetings as per emergency law!  The Wuhan Virus has caused the cancellation of endless events; huge like the two-million spectators New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade (for the first time in over 250 years since 1762), all Broadway and off-Broadway shows, and literally all sports events, and small like the S.V.A. get2gether.  The should-have-been-avoided, reckless virus has resulted in the victimized deaths of over 15,000 people just in New York State!    The S.V.A. would never have guessed -- who would -- that a monthly meeting here in the U.S.A. would be upended due to that well-known branding: "Made in China"!

Thursday, March 26 -- "STONEWALL JUKEBOX" SUPERSTAR BIRTHDAY:  DIANA ROSS

Wednesday, March 25 -- ST. JOHN's EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH

St. John's Evangelical Church (the "Church") in Greenwich Village, NYC, is where the S.V.A. meets! In this unusual and unexpected time of a worldwide pandemic and financial crisis, closed businesses and home restrictions, you do not have to be a mathemetician to figure out that with the Church closed from all Sunday masses, services, meetings, and events, it is an obvious financial drain on the Church.  Please contribute to the Church that houses the STONEWALL Veterans' Association annual conferences and all of its monthly meetings.  We are requesting -- our idea -- that you make a worthwhile and tax-exempt contribution to the Church!  Please write a check or money order payable to: St. John's Lutheran Church.  In the memo section, simply print: S.R.V.A. (with the dots).  You can mail it directly to the Church or send it to the S.V.A. at 70-A Greenwich Avenue, Suite 120, Manhattan, NY 10011.  We shall present the donations in person to the wonderful Pastor Mark E. Erson.
Besides monetary support, you can also 'like' the Church at:

Monday, March 16 -- BROADWAY CARES PRESENTS "BROADWAY BACKWARDS" at NEW AMSTERDAM THEATRE - CANCELLED

Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS and the STONEWALL Veterans Association have had a longterm, productive and mutual relationship for about a quarter-of-a-century!  The S.V.A. is always happy and proud to urge attendance at BC/EFA's great theatrical and musical productions!  "Broadway Backwards" is a wonderful, talented and witty musical extravaganza with the gender roles of popular songs is reversed.  For example, Connie Francis's "Where The Boys Are" would get turned into "Where The Girls Are"!  Venue is the New Amsterdam Theatre at Times Square on West 42nd Street, Manhattan, NY.  For more info on Broadway Cares, please view:  https://www.BroadwayCares.org .  Update:  Due to the national emergency caused by the China Virus, this event had to be cancelled.

Saturday, February 29 -- S.VA's MONTHLY MEETING at ST. JOHN'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH in GREENWICH VILLAGE, NYC @ 3:15 p.m. until 5:15 p.m.

Reports are provided by several Stonewall veterans.  Willson Henderson welcomes suggestions and diagrams plans for the "SVA's 51st Annual Conference & Reunion" on June 27th.   Bert Coffman relates the Community Bored #2 streetfair activity hearing for the forthcoming "17th Annual S.V.A. Streetfair"!  C/B-2 complained about too many streetfairs in East Greenwich Village.  Then, eliminate others not the legandary S.V.A.  They even invoked the East 14th street 'busway' -- irrelevant to the SVA's streetfair below said street.  Joani Sobel updates communications with the offices of various public officials such as NYS Governor Andrew Cuomo and Congresswoman Carolina Maloney.  St. John's Church's wonderful pastor Reverend Mark Erson makes a special appearance to chat with the Stonewall vets!  The leap-year get2gether is @ 3:15 p.m. until 5:15 p.m.

Saturday, January 25 , 2020 -- NATIONAL STONEWALL REBELLION VETERANS ASSOCIATION MONTHLY MEETING in NEW YORK CITY

The National STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association ("S.V.A.") meets the last Saturday of every month -- unless it is an American national holiday!  Various reports, including communications with other G.L.B.T. and non-GLBT organizations and from elected public officials and candidates, are provided by Stonewall veterans.  In fact, one of the SVA's longtime and active honorary members is a candidate... for U.S. President!

Opening discussions and preliminary planning for the "SVA's 51st Annual Conference & Stonewall Veterans Reunion + Testimonials" on Saturday the 27th of June in 2020 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church!  Nominations for both the male and female keynote speakers!  A new "Songs of the Original STONEWALL Club Jukebox" compact disc will be compiled for the event and "Stonewall 51"!

Updates are dished out on the SVA's lawsuit in the Civil Court of the City of New York against the often-dumped Gayragpaper a.k.a. poisonous Gay City News now d.b.a. as the down-sized and down-low 'g.c.n.'.  The Gayragpaper is currently mismanaged and the source of diss-information by the  heterosexually-owned Schneps Communuications, for libel, defamation, slander, loss of revenue, etc.  It is highly unlikely that the Gayragpaper libelers will prevail in their 'motion to dismiss' as it is filled with lies and more libel!  If, as is widely-circulated and upon information and belief, Schleps Media finally extinguishes the veracity-challenged, slander monger and journalistic travesty Druncan Ozburn a.k.a. Duncan Osborne, the lawsuit shall, of course, continue, and expand, insofar as the Schlepses published the trash and still have not had it removed to the trash bin!  Question: Why doesn't the leading G.L.B.T. city in the World have several -- as NYC did for decades -- but at least one Gay-owned newspaper?  NYC has nada!

The SVA's divine venue is at the historic and welcoming St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church full-service Founders' Room at 83 Christopher Street just off Seventh Avenue South in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, New York City from 3:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.  Feel free to bring foods and beverages to share.  For more 411 on the legendary S.V.A., please visit:  https://www.StonewallVets.org/mainpage.htm
